The Peter Brock Day and Award celebrates an individual who was one of the leading
lights for rugby, not only in the Baltimore area, but also throughout the country.
Peter was an Internationally recognized player as well as a mentor to many of the
younger players of the squad. He died in January of 1987 as the result of a brain
aneurysm. He was just 34 years old. The award has been given out since 1987 to a
player who exemplifies the spirit of Peter Brock. This player is missed when not
on the field; is an ambassador for the sport off the field and plays the game at
'full-throttle' and in a sportsman-like fashion; hard, strong and true..."no quarter
given; no quarter asked!"
The annual Peter Brock Rugby Day consists of youth, old boy, and select side matches,
followed by dinner and an awards ceremony. This is the premier social event of the
year for the club.
